A live recreation of Tax Calculator 2026 Fixed (with Charts). Same yellow-cell inputs, same math — not a spreadsheet dumped on a page.

How this estimator calculates
  1. Total ordinary income is the sum of the ordinary fields (you + spouse when MFJ or MFS).
  2. Total LTCG / qualified dividends is the sum of those preferential fields.
  3. Deduction is whatever is in the standard / itemized field.
  4. Capital loss against ordinary is the lesser of $3,000 and losses plus carryover.
  5. Taxable ordinary = max(0, ordinary − deduction − capital loss − above-the-line).
  6. Ordinary tax is the 2026 progressive rates on taxable ordinary income.
  7. Preferential income is stacked after ordinary income through the 0% / 15% / 20% LTCG brackets.
  8. Net tax = max(0, total tax − nonrefundable credits).
  9. Due or refund = net tax − withheld. Bi-weekly = that amount ÷ 26.
